And I remember then even laughing and feeling better about myself. So I think you are right, Jaws 4 the Revenge is just what the doctor ordered. Now If I can just work up the courage to tackle #2!!!Andre Dumashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07170879111034420803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-52368764935916914372010-08-14T01:34:58.986-04:002010-08-14T01:34:58.986-04:00What a great couple of posts - and I especially lo...What a great couple of posts - and I especially love your face on the Amity billboard. Great expression! Like some others have said, "Jaws" is my favorite film and has been since I saw it in the theatre at the tender age of 8. I've shown it in my classes a number of times (along with "Poltergeist") and it still gets me every time. I just love everything about it.

"Jaws 2," while definitely a step down from the original, is still worthwhile and will probably also scare you at least a bit.

But here's why you should continue your trek through the four "Jaws" films: to get to "Jaws the Revenge." Think of it as the holy grail of shark films, if the holy grail was so poorly made you could do nothing but giggle and stare wide-eyed at it. I seriously think it alone could snap you out of your fear. It's truly one of the most inept and ridiculous films ever made; so utterly and completely incompetent that it's tough to even laugh at. (But you'll still do it, mark my words!) And it's got everything: Mario Van Peebles doing a scattershot Jamaican accent? Check! A shark standing on its tail - on water? Check! Michael Caine's dry shirt (which I'm sure you've heard about)? Yep, it's all true - and more!

You've gotta see it, Andre. It makes "Jaws 3-D" look brilliant by comparison, and just might cure this phobia forever. AND you could do a nifty placement of your face onto Lorraine Gary's body as she battles the shark in the finale. Now that's therapy!Art Almquistnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-39881227728494531142010-08-12T00:23:46.835-04:002010-08-12T00:23:46.835-04:00Pure poetry!Pure poetry!Andre Dumashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07170879111034420803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-81571227289929292922010-08-12T00:15:18.198-04:002010-08-12T00:15:18.198-04:00Poor, poor, Pippin :( Why couldn't it be the m...Poor, poor, Pippin :( Why couldn't it be the mayor? It really boggles my mind.
I promise not to post any scary shark pics because I KNOW how much I hate when people do that to me without warning. I know I did it last time but I didn't think anyone had as big a problem with it as me. I'm pretty terrified of Jaws 2 because I realized one of my biggest Jaws memories comes from that film. Oooooh it's been haunting me. Sigh.

Thanks Chris, I always think of you when it comes to high praise in the name of Jaws. I don't close my eyes though, and prefer to feel the extreme horror way down in my gut when Quint gets it - it's part of why I watch, because so little scares me these days. But that scene - hell yeah!

But the worst part is Pippin! Poor thing! (Oh, and Alex Kintner's mother-slash-should-be-grandmother, she was pretty damn scary as well...)

And yes, it IS a perfect film :)Christine Haddenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16932508146588027867noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-51255911795199968522010-08-11T22:35:24.145-04:002010-08-11T22:35:24.145-04:00See, I consider JAWS one of the greatest of all ti...See, I consider JAWS one of the greatest of all time and one of my all time favorite films, and while I have seen it maybe a hundred times, not once have I watched it without my feet on the couch and my hands over my face at the opportune times. It's one of the few films that actually scares me, so I have a respect for it because of that.

I don't know, I could never watch it without closing my eyes (unless I was bombed beyond belief), so I commend you for trying. I have enough trouble reading this post without thinking that mother fucker is behind me right now, waiting to eat my hair and shit.

I do hope you carry forth with your quest and go on to JAWS 2 just so I can read your reaction to it (and some of the great outfits). Just please don't post any pics of the shark or I wont even come near that shit.Matt-suzakahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16215962688591291944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-29523757278263836712010-08-11T21:40:39.068-04:002010-08-11T21:40:39.068-04:00Whoohoo!
