It's my favorite show ever. Still, I do enjoy the film for its camp factor and Kristy Swanson. I haven't seen it in a while but I do have plans on reviewing it. And I love when Paul Reubens gets staked. His death scene is hilarious.Fred [The Wolf]https://www.blogger.com/profile/03208803636786210066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-31324064974582971202010-09-08T10:17:08.817-04:002010-09-08T10:17:08.817-04:00I am all about the TV series, but never got more t...I am all about the TV series, but never got more than luke warm for the original movie. They pretend to be enemies but....I don't buy it. The best is when the parade floats come alive and they banter "Are YOU addressing I?" ooooh Luke Perry where did you go!? or when Pee Wee tells the vampires, "Kill him a lot". Gosh. I love it.Andre Dumashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07170879111034420803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-936388905383115382010-09-07T14:11:33.390-04:002010-09-07T14:11:33.390-04:00Yay! I NO LONGER HAVE TO HIDE MY SHAMEFUL SECRET! :D

I know that the TV show had a lot of humor and cool factor, but for me, compared to the movie, it was just *so* deadly SERIOUS. I loved the goofy humor of the movie, from Buffy catching the stake from The Donald ("You threw a STAKE...at my HEAD!") to various one-liners (One-armed Pee Wee: "I can do anything!" Buffy: "Oh yeah? CLAP.") to Pee Wee's Greatest Vampire Death Scene EVAR. There was definitely something lost from the valley-girl Buffy to her small-screen successor, imo.

Also, I share your horror of looking in a mirror and seeing nothing, then physically looking behind me and seeing SOMETHING. (Though it didn't originate with this particular flick.) Something about that idea just chills me.

Nice catch on the Nosferatu-hat vamp in this flick. I'd never noticed that before, but it's clearly from the Count Orlok line of haberdashery. :)The Vicar of VHShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06832137990485130735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-10608255076121885782010-09-07T12:29:13.399-04:002010-09-07T12:29:13.399-04:00You're not alone. Like The Mike I saw the movie in the theater and I still enjoy watching it to this day. I even bought book "movie novelization" (which I still own by the way--I know, pretty nerdy, haha). Anyway I know that ol' Joss didn't intend for it to turn out so goofy and comedic, but i still think that he should cut the movie some slack. I mean after all, he got to re-do it his way.

Also, I wonder if Paul Reubens was intentionally trying to look like a vampire version of his infamous mug shot?Dorian Graynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-51357696619019826152010-09-06T17:23:50.713-04:002010-09-06T17:23:50.713-04:00I totally got your back, Andre!!!

I don't know why, but I especially love that part when the vampires start attacking the dance and that doofus is like "Is somebody kidding?!" LMAO. Gets me every time.

But the show...ugh. Sooooo effing bad. It took itself way too seriously and Sarah Michelle Gellar sucks major ass.Mikey Saragohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06928178715048836468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-706937351903658758.post-6435442835615905332010-09-06T14:02:12.337-04:002010-09-06T14:02:12.337-04:00God bless you The Mike.
